Impact Experience Design (IED)
The learning unit introduces the importance of experience design to achieve impactful solutions. As described in CSE competencies ¨Facilitating thinking outside the box¨ is precisely one of the biggest needs of our Century. Innovative solutions came from innovative ideas and to do so, fostering creativity and collaboration among transdisciplinary perspectives needs to be encouraged. The learning unit tends to embrace creative thinking and innovation to learn how to recognize the difficulties of CSE projects and provide innovative and efficient solutions by identifying the interrelationship between social entrepreneurship and the design thinking methodology.

Social Business Finance
This learning unit introduces learners to Social Finance and the social economy. The focus of this learning unit is to understand the opportunities of Social Entrepreneurship, Social Business, and Non-Profit-Organizations. Competition among different actors is high, and communication has changed through digital transformation. Marketing strategies have become key points in reaching target audiences and funds. Apart from focusing on the social business economy, the module aims for the students to develop their skills in Marketing. As defined in the CSE Personal & Professional Skills ¨Creating a vision based on anticipated futures¨ including strategy for achieving long-term resilience, the three elements highlighted embrace the initiative (vision) the application (strategy), and the stability (resilience). Furthermore, students will acquire knowledge about accounting concepts and principles of different types of financial statements through examples located in sustainable social business.

CSE and project management

The learning unit presents a general overview of project management within the context of Corporate Social Entrepreneurship. The aim of this unit is to provide a well-ground theoretical and practical content of project management. As defined in one CSE core skills identified, enabling favorable conditions to bridge the controllable and plannable world and the complex, dynamic and unpredictable world, is a very good example of the need to have project management skills and know-how to act and react in different situations.

 

Learners will acquire how to strategically manage CSE projects, and to implement creative ideas into action. Moreover, students will review how individuals or groups have successfully achieved the process of management throughout different spheres, such as government policies, the nonprofit sector, private sector. Among the objectives, students will get hands-on methods, systems, and tools related to Project Management, obtain practical knowledge of the current methodologies and tools, understand the different types of planning and projects.

The learning unit provides the students with the tools needed for leading and managing projects. Therefore, students can detect needs, define, plan, execute, follow up, and closing of the projects. Thus, it gives a solid foundation of the CSR best practices and the role of CSE in contemporary business and society.

 

Specific learning unit content:

  1. Theoretical content about project management.
  2. Digital transformation and the existing tools for project management and Agile methodologies (Lean, Scrum, Sprints, Kanban).
  3. Project planning, management of time, risks, and scope.
  4. Leadership & Team Leadership.

 

Skills:

  1. Enabling favorable conditions to bridge the controllable and plannable world and the complex, dynamic and unpredictable world.
  2. Being connective proactively seeks connections and facilitates collaborations with new stakeholders and networks, new themes, new (societal) challenges, interdisciplinary networks, etc.

  4. Bridging interests, worldviews, and positions of shareholders and stakeholders.
  5. Mobilizing allies for change.
  6. Evaluating and integrating different problem-solving frameworks to develop viable, inclusive, and equitable solutions for complex problems that promote sustainable development.

Study load in ECTS: 5 ECTS (1 ECT=28 hours)

 

Didactical form:

Learners will examine CSE project management through best practices and relevant case studies.

Personal level (25%): self-study and desk research including one practical case study. The practical study consists in developing and applying best practices and digital tools to improve the objectives, vision, values, and work dynamic of the Startup created. Besides, students will present an internal plan, compiling a plan that includes risk, time, monitoring, and evaluation strategy.

Final project (25%) Under the activity presented at the personal level. Students will compile the desk research and outcomes of the activity in the final project.

Group level (50%): work in groups and peer-to-peer learning. Given a problem definition, students will present an innovative solution to overcome the problem raised. Students should incorporate a time schedule, risk, and monitoring plan, and final evaluation of the solution.

 

Assessment method:

Assessment: To be discussed

Two evaluations. The evaluation of one individual practical case study and the group presentation.
